IBDmate is a free online education platform for young people with inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD) such as Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis and inflammatory bowel disease unclassified (IBDU) and their families.
It includes information on a huge range of topics, such as understanding more about IBD, symptoms, medications, procedures, living with IBD and more.
This information is being added to all the time and we are building one of the most comprehensive libraries of information about IBD for young people in the world. The information is split into courses that young patients and their families can work through in order or dip in and out of, choosing what is relevant to then at that time.
IBDmate is currently being used by the paediatric IBD team at Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge, UK, where doctors and nurses are ‘prescribing’ information that relates to the patient’s individual IBD journey and circumstances. If successful then IBDmate will be rolled out to other paediatric hospitals in the UK to use in the same way.
Currently only paediatric patients at Addenbrooke’s Hospital have access to IBDmate, however it will be available to anyone with IBD very soon. Join our mailing list to be the first to find out when you can access it.
